Ambio Reader — Account & Data Deletion

Last updated · May 25, 2026

This page explains how to delete your Ambio Reader account and the data associated with it. It applies to the Ambio Reader mobile application, published by Ambio. You can delete your account yourself from inside the app, or request deletion by email if you no longer have the app installed.

1. Delete your account from inside the app

This is the fastest method and removes your data immediately.

  1. Open Ambio Reader and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Read the warning and tap Delete.
  5. Type your account email address to confirm. Your account and associated data are then deleted and you are signed out.

2. Request deletion by email

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email support@ambio.cloud from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify the request and complete the deletion within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

  • Account credentials — your email address and hashed password.
  • Library and reading data — your imported book references, reading positions, bookmarks, selected soundscapes, and app settings, both on our servers and on your device.
  • Support context — any error reports or feedback you submitted from the app.

On-device data is wiped from your phone as part of the in-app deletion, and is fully removed if you uninstall the app.

4. What is retained, and for how long

  • Purchase & subscription records — transaction history is held by Google Play, the Apple App Store, and our subscription processor (RevenueCat) under their own policies and applicable tax and accounting law. We cannot delete these. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it separately in Google Play (Subscriptions) or the App Store.
  • Crash & diagnostic logs — non-identifying technical data (device type, OS and app version, crash traces) may persist in our crash-reporting tool for up to 90 days, then is deleted automatically.
  • Anonymous soundscape cache — scene-analysis results are cached against an anonymous fingerprint of the book text (a hash), so the same book is not re-analysed for every reader. This cache is not linked to your identity or account and is retained as part of the shared sound catalogue.
  • Backups — residual copies in encrypted, rolling backups are purged within 30 days.
